At present, Lockdown 4.0 has been declared in the country due to the increasing effects of Coronavirus. The lockdown is till May 31, but many states have also got many discounts due to this lockdown. In view of these exemptions, the Federation of Western India Cinema Employees (FWICE) has sought permission from CM Uddhav Thackeray to start work in the film industry. It has sought permission to start the production work of the films that have been completed shooting through letters. FWICE wrote in this letter that "It is an institution with more than 5 lakh members. The entertainment industry is the most giving body to the country."

It wrote, 'Producers have invested money on films and everything is stuck due to lockdown. No one has any future plans. Therefore, we want to bring this problem before you. We demand that films should be allowed to complete such works, which are at the last stage. These tasks will be done in closed studios. Doing so will bring relief to all the producers." Whereas FWICE has also assured the Chief Minister through a letter, " These works will be done only by following the rules of Covid-19 lockdown ".
