New Delhi: With the festive season fast approaching, the Indian Railways is gearing up to provide a seamless and quicker travel experience for commuters. In response to the anticipated surge in passenger demand, the national railway network is preparing to roll out nine additional Vande Bharat Express trains. Reports suggest that three of these new additions will likely debut on the Central Railway Network.
While the specifics of these upcoming trains are yet to be unveiled, insider sources have informed us that the meticulous planning and route selection for the new Vande Bharat Express operations are currently in progress.
Among the proposed routes, it is believed that the cities of Pune to Secunderabad, Mumbai to Jalna, and Mumbai to Kolhapur are in line to receive these high-speed marvels. The introduction of semi-high-speed trains on these routes promises to enhance connectivity and convenience for passengers in these regions.
Furthermore, the Indian Railways has shared exciting news regarding Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, as the spiritual city is soon to be graced with its second Vande Bharat Express. This forthcoming train, adorned in blue and white livery, will connect Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh with Tatanagar in Jharkhand.
The soon-to-be-deployed Vande Bharat Express will differ from its predecessors, boasting eight-coach rakes instead of the conventional 16-coach configuration. It will offer services six days a week and is expected to be inaugurated before the start of Navratri.
Reports indicate that the semi-high-speed train will make halts at six key stations, including Tatanagar Junction, Bokaro City, Purulia Junction, Gaya Junction, Pt DD Upadhyaya Junction, and Varanasi Junction.
The Vande Bharat Express's schedule is set to commence with a 6:00 AM departure from Tatanagar Junction, culminating at Varanasi Junction at 1:50 PM. On its return journey, it will embark from Varanasi Junction at 2:35 PM, reaching Tatanagar Junction at 10:00 PM on the same day.
Upon its launch, this new addition will mark the 35th semi-high-speed train in the country's railway network. To date, there are 34 Vande Bharat Expresses traversing different routes throughout the nation.
The festive season invariably witnesses a surge in rail commuters as individuals from diverse parts of the country journey home to celebrate with their loved ones. Annually, over nine million passengers opt for Indian Rail services to reach their chosen destinations.
