Mumbai: Maharashtra Finance Minister Ajit Pawar On Friday presented the first budget of the state government in the assembly. Special attention has been given to farmers and youth in this budget. While presenting the budget, the Finance Minister announced that loans of up to two lakh rupees of farmers in the state will be forgiven. With this, local people have been taken care of in government jobs, the Finance Minister said that 80 percent reservation will be given to local people in state jobs. An act will be brought for this.

 VAT of one rupee has been increased in petrol and diesel in the state. This will increase the prices of petrol and diesel across the state. With this decision of the government, the state will get an additional income of Rs 1800 crore. Ajit Pawar has presented a deficit budget of Rs 9,510 crore this time. The Maharashtra government will keep its funds only in public sector banks. CM of the state Uddhav Thackeray has directed the Chief Secretary that government money should be deposited only in nationalized banks and not in private banks.

Maharashtra Deputy CM and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar gave this information on Friday. He made this statement in the presence of Thackeray. Earlier, Pawar presented the budget of 2020-21 in the state assembly. Pawar told presspersons outside the state assembly building complex that CM Thackeray has directed the chief secretary and other secretaries to deposit government funds only in nationalized banks, especially in centrally protected banks.
