New Delhi: The lockdown is in force since March to prevent the global epidemic coronavirus infection. But in the midst of all this, many people have lost their jobs, while some people continue to have jobs, but they are facing salary cuts. The Finance Ministry has discussed these questions with the Ministry of Labor today. After which the Ministry of Labor has started collecting data in this regard. It is believed that in this meeting on Friday, the Finance Ministry has sought information about people who have lost employment.

However, this is the first time since the lockdown when there is any discussion between the two ministries. Whereas, a few days ago, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a special package of 20 lakh crores. This announcement was made after PM Modi's address in which it was told that a special package is being given as an aid from the central government to give financial strength.

In the last few days, the Central Government has been severely criticized for employment. A leaked report by the National Sample Survey Office, or NSSO, states that the unemployment rate reached 6.1 percent in 2017-18, the highest in 45 years. In January, the Center for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) report reported that about 1.1 crore jobs have ended in 2018 as a side effect of the 2016 demonetisation and the 2017 GST rollout.
