Bhubaneshwar: Summer season has started in the whole country and this is the season when the fire incidents in the forests are at the peak. Simlipal National Park located in the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha is also battling the flames these days. There has been a huge fire in this national park for the last 10 days. But nobody's attention is going towards this.

Simlipal is the most important national park in the country spread over 1060 square meters. This place is part of the Mayurbhanj Elephant Reserve. There is also a tiger reserve. In such a situation, the blaze here has become a cause of concern for environmental experts. Simlipal forest is the abode of the Bengal tiger, Asian elephant, Gaur, and Chausingha. Apart from this, this park is also famous for its enchanting waterfalls like Joranda and Beripani Falls. In 2009, it was declared as the World Network of Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.

Efforts are being made to extinguish the fire in the park for the last 10 days. According to media reports, a total of 399 fire points have been identified in the park. Located at the end of the Eastern Ghats, this park is famous for red silk cotton trees. It is named after these trees which originate in this area. There are 3000 types of trees in the forest of Simlipal, of which 94 species are only of orchids, in this national park there are 12 types of animals that can live on water and earth, 29 varieties of reptiles, 264 There are varieties of birds and 42 types of mammals.
