Washington: The first consignment of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) from India reached the United States on Saturday, which is being seen as a potential drug to treat the global pandemic corona virus. A few days ago, in the ongoing fight against Corona virus, US President Donald Trump had asked for this medicine as a help from PM = Narendra Modi.

After which the Indian government removed the ban on export of this anti-malarial drug on humanitarian grounds to help America and some other countries. Earlier this week, on the insistence of US President Donald Trump, India approved the export of 35.82 lakh tablets of hydroxychloroquine to the US. With this, the necessary nine tons of pharmaceutical ingredients or APIs have also been sent to manufacture the medicine.

According to Johns Hopkins University statistics, more than 1.7 million people in the US are infected with the corona virus and 1,08,867 people have died. The US has emerged as a global hotspot with over 20,000 deaths and nearly 5,30,000 cases of infection. India's Ambassador to America Taranjit Singh Sandhu tweeted that our colleagues have our full support in the war against Corona. The shipment of hydroxychloroquine from India has reached New York Airport today.
