Recently at a south Delhi resident's home, the Delhi government installed the first private electric car charging outlet under its single-window service. The facility was installed in the BRPL region of the BSES discom. The charging station was installed in DDA flats in Munirka, south Delhi.

The facility's second private EV charger was established in Vivek Vihar in east Delhi. The single-window facility, which was launched in November, intends to speed up the growth of charging infrastructure in private and semi-public locations around the city, including apartments, group housing societies, hospitals, malls, and theatres.

Customers of BSES discoms BRPL and BYPL can use the online single-window portal Switch Delhi to obtain a private EV charging station placed at their houses, group housing societies, multi-story apartment complexes, RWA offices, and commercial establishments, among other places.

The city's transportation department has chosen twelve companies to build charging stations. The government would be able to build and operationalize charging stations within seven working days after receiving applications thanks to the single-window facility. Customers may even arrange the charging stations to be installed at their leisure.

The effort intends to construct private charging infrastructure in order to create an environment that allows for both private and public charging infrastructure to be provided.

The government is offering a one-time subsidy of $6,000 for the first 30,000 charging points in the city in order to promote and grow the private charging network. Consumers can acquire EV chargers through the single-window interface from empanelled providers on a capex or subscription basis. Consumers that use the capex model pay the enrolled vendor in totally full advance. The consumer pays the complete amount to the seller in equal monthly instalments over three years under the subscription model, after which the cost is passed to him.
