Heavy rainfall in Hyderabad and Telangana states is devastating. It has caused damage to many areas. For relief, the central team is scheduled to make a two-day field visit to Hyderabad and other districts of Telangana state on Thursday and Friday to assess the damage to assets and crops due to recent heavy rains and flash floods. Union Home and Secunderabad State Minister Mp G Kishan Reddy has made it clear that the central government will release funds only on the basis of the report submitted by the Central Team.
The five-member central team will conduct a field tour. The team, headed by Praveen Vasisht, Joint Secretary of the Union Home Ministry. The team will submit its report to the Centre after completing the estimates of the losses. The team is a senior official of the Ministry of Water Resources (Water Resources) and RB Kaul of the Ministry of Finance, K Manoharan of the Ministry of Agriculture, SK Kushavaha of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and another senior officer of the Ministry of Water Resources (Water Resources).
However, the Union Minister announced that the families of the victims of floods would be distributed Rs 4 lakh each to those who have suffered disability in natural disasters as per the revised norms of the NDA government in 2015. The injured will be given Rs 1,200, Rs 1,800 for those who have lost clothes and other items and Rs 2,000 for purchase of household appliances. He said funds for providing financial assistance could be obtained from the National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF).
