Dantewada: People are gradually becoming disenchanted with the Naxalite ideology after the government's schemes and awareness programs. The tribal villagers, who had joined the Naxalites for are returning to the mainstream society. The Naxalites are getting attracted by this, considering the policy of rehabilitation by the government. In this episode, five Naxalites have surrendered before the SP in Dantewada district on Friday.

On Friday, Kuhrami Mangal, a member of the military platoon No.24 of the Naxalites, Mahruram Banjam, Handwara LOS member Jairam Mandavi, CNM Chairman Naresh Netam and CNM Chairman Shanti Ista, in charge of the Naxal-based Medical Team, surrendered.

Kuhrami Mangal was involved in an attack on the police and media party near Nilaya during the 2018 assembly elections. A reward of two lakh rupees has been declared. Apart from this, Mahruram worked as a medical team in-charge for the Naxalites and treated the Naxals. A reward of two lakh rupees has also been declared on him.
