BANGALORE: Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate Karnataka's second Vande Bharat Express, connecting Bangalore and Dharwad through a video conferencing ceremony. The South Western Railway (SWR) has confirmed this development. Recently, the express train successfully completed a trial run from KSR Bangalore station to Dharwad and back on June 19.

This launch marks PM Modi's second inauguration of a Vande Bharat train in Karnataka. Previously, the Mysuru-Bangalore-Chennai Vande Bharat train was introduced in November of the previous year, making it the first of its kind in southern India. HT reported this significant achievement.

The grand inauguration of the Dharwad-KSR Bangalore Inaugural Special (train number 07305) will take place at 10:30 am on June 27, commencing from Dharwad. Shortly after, the train will depart for KSR Bangalore. During the trial run, the express train demonstrated remarkable speeds of up to 110 km/hour on the 350 km stretch of its total 489 km route.

The Vande Bharat Express comprises eight coaches and will cover a distance of 490 kilometers in 6 hours and 13 minutes. Departing from Bangalore at 5:45 am, it will arrive at Dharwad Railway Station at 11:58 am. With an average speed of 78.82 kmph, this train will significantly reduce travel time between Bangalore and Dharwad by at least one hour, as reported by Zee News.

Stations and Operations- Once regular operations commence, the train, equipped with air-conditioned chair cars and executive cars, will only make stops at Yeshwantpur, Davangere, and Hubballi. Yeshwantpur, Davangere, and Hubballi will serve as commercial stops, while primary maintenance will be conducted at KSR Bangalore.

Operating six days a week, except on Tuesdays, this express train will connect vital cities in Karnataka, including Dharwad, Hubballi, and Davangere, with Bangalore. Its introduction will greatly benefit tourists, students, industrialists, and others in the region by providing a faster alternative to the existing trains on this route. The Prime Minister's office released a statement emphasizing these advantages.

Ticket Fares- Passengers can expect ticket fares for the Bangalore-Hubballi-Dharwad Vande Bharat Express to be around Rs.1,205 for the AC chair car class and Rs.2,395 for the executive chair car class. The fares include catering charges as well.
