NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's proposed visit to Shahdol district in Madhya Pradesh has been postponed due to heavy rain warnings.

His planned Tuesday visit to Bhopal, where he would inaugurate five Vande Bharat trains and speak to BJP members at a booth-level event both in person and digitally, is unaffected, said Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

He will visit the state capital in the morning and then continue to Rani Kamalapati train station. Five Vande Bharat Express trains, including two for Madhya Pradesh, would be launched from there.

In a previous tweet, Modi said, "I will be in Bhopal tomorrow, June 27, to take part in two engagements. 5 Vande Bharat trains would first depart during a ceremony in the Rani Kamalapati train station. The connectivity in Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa, Bihar, and Jharkhand will be improved by these trains.
According to an official release, these semi-high-speed trains include the Hatia-Patna Vande Bharat Express, Dharwad-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express, Madgaon (Goa)-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express, and Rani Kamalapati (Bhopal)-Jabalpur Vande Bharat Express.

PM Modi will engage with 10 lakh BJP members at the booth level.
According to state BJP president Vishnu Dutt Sharma, Modi will address 3,000 BJP members at the second event in the state capital who have made significant contributions to empowering their booths as part of the party's "Mera Booth Sabse Majboot" campaign. He said, the PM would virtually engage with 10 lakh BJP members who work at booths at the event.

The visit by PM Modi to Lalpur village in Madhya Pradesh's Shahdol district has been postponed because of the likelihood of torrential rain. Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) cards and the National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission unveiling were the goals of the visit.

At the conclusion of a yatra held by the state government to honour the valour of Rani Durgavati, a 16th-century warrior queen, he was also supposed to pay tribute to her. In Pakaria village, the prime minister was also scheduled to meet with tribal chiefs, members of self-help organisations, PESA committee chairs, and captains of the local football teams. The Chief Minister said that a new date for his visit would be revealed shortly.
