NEW DELHI: Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, who arrived in Delhi last night after concluding his United States and Egypt visits, chaired a cabinet meeting in New Delhi on Monday.
Wasting no time, he immediately chaired a cabinet meeting in the national capital on Monday, accompanied by prominent Union Ministers Amit Shah, Nirmala Sitharaman, Hardeep Singh Puri, and other senior officials.
Earlier today, Shah held a meeting with PM Modi, providing a comprehensive update on the ongoing developments in Manipur. Chief Minister Biren Singh of Manipur had previously briefed Shah about the dynamic situation in the state, emphasizing the effective measures taken by the state and central governments to curb violence.
A significant all-party meeting was convened on Saturday by Amit Shah, specifically to address the prevailing situation in Manipur. As the chair of the meeting, the Union Home Minister aimed to assess and evaluate the turbulent circumstances in the state. Notable figures like BJP national president JP Nadda, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, CPI(M) MP John Brittas, and several other leaders were present at this critical gathering.
Simultaneously, Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Delhi early Monday, marking the successful completion of his inaugural state visits to the United States and Egypt, which spanned a remarkable six days. The Prime Minister received a warm welcome at the Palam airport, greeted by BJP national President JP Nadda, Union Minister of State Meenakashi Lekhi, and numerous party MPs, including Hans Raj Hans and Gautam Gambhir.
During the course of the day, PM Modi took to his Twitter handle to share delightful moments from his first visit to Egypt. The accompanying video showcased his arrival in the African nation, his meetings with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, as well as his interactions with members of the Indian diaspora.
Sharing the video on Twitter, PM Modi expressed, "My visit to Egypt was truly historic. It will invigorate the relations between India and Egypt, benefiting the people of both nations. Before his visit to Egypt, PM Modi undertook a significant state visit to the United States from June 21 to June 24, followed by his subsequent visit to Egypt from June 24 to June 25.
