Flipkart Acquires Intellectual Property of Gaming Startup Mech Mocha

Walmart and Flipkart have announced to strengthen their gaming plans on Tuesday. For this, the Intellectual Property (IP) of Mech Mocha is being acquired by the company. However, no information has been given about the amount in which it is being acquired.

Mech Mocha is a mobile gaming startup, which runs Hello Play, the country's first live social gaming platform. Its co-founders are Arpita Kapoor and Mohit Rangaraju. Mech Mocha is supported by investors such as Essel Partners, Blue Ventures and Huawei Capital. Flipkart said that in addition to the company's acquisition of IP, Mech Mocha's gaming team will also join Flipkart with co-founders. According to the company's statement, under the leadership of Flipkart Vice President Prakash Sikaria, the team will work to advance Flipkart's gaming efforts.

According to Flipkart's claim, social media gaming platforms have recorded an increase in the last few years due to the increase in mobile subscribers. Online gaming demand has increased in the era of social distance. Currently, the gaming platform Mech Mocha is available in seven Indian languages. More than 10 games are present on this platform. It includes Indian multiplayer games such as Ludo, Carrom, Snake Ladders and Cricket.
