South Sudan: Flooding in South Sudan has displaced 835,000 people, raising the risk of increased displacement, violence, food insecurity, and livelihood disruption, according to the UN.

Flooding has been affecting residents in the country since May, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. According to Official account, more than 200,000 people have been displaced and need assistance in the states of Jonglei, Unity, and Upper Nile.  Bentiu, the capital of the oil-rich Unity State, is facing the worst flooding in six decades, and more than 200,000 people have been displaced and need assistance, according to the Office.

Humanitarian organisations in South Sudan have fed 619,000 people, provided emergency water, sanitation, and hygiene aid to nearly 477,000 people, and given health care to 227,000 individuals in the last 11 months.

"Worrying levels of malnutrition among children under the age of five have been observed in new IDP settlement locations," it added, noting that the country already has 2 million IDPs.
