NEW DELHI: starting today, November 21, India Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will meet industry leaders and experts in infrastructure and climate change.
Sitharaman will organise virtual sessions to collect input from stakeholders on how to create the budget for 2023–24.
The Ministry of Finance tweeted on Sunday: Tomorrow, November 21, 2022, in the morning and afternoon, "Finance Minister Smt. @nsitharaman will be holding her 1st #PreBudget2023 discussions with the captains from industry and specialists of #Infrastructure and #ClimateChange in two groups."
The minister will meet with members from the banking industry, the capital market, and the agriculture and agro-processing industries on November 22.
On November 24, she will meet with experts from the social sector, including health, education, water, and sanitation, as well as representatives of the services industry and trade bodies.
On November 28, trade union representatives and economists will meet to discuss the pre-budget. Participants will offer recommendations for the 2023–24 budget, which the Finance Minister will present to Parliament on February 1.
She will meet with officials of the financial and capital markets later that day.
On November 24, she would meet with representatives from the service, commerce, and social sectors to go over sector-specific concerns for the Union Budget 2023–24.
