Sohan Halwa is a traditional Indian dessert which is quite popular in India including Pakistan, Iran and Afghanistan. It is a type of dessert made with fine flour (Maida), ghee, sugar and dry fruits. Necessary Ingredients:

Flour - 1/2 kg
Sugar - 1/2 kg
Almonds - 1/4 kg
Ghee - 1/2 kg or according to taste
Milk - 1 cup
Saffron - 1 tsp
Pistachio - 100 grams
Raisins - 5-6
Cashews - 5-6
Green cardamom - 50 grams

Method of preparation: To make Sohan Halwa, first put a pan in the gas and allow it to heat up. When the pan gets hot, add ghee to it and let it heat. When the ghee gets hot, add refined flour and stir it well. When the aroma starts spreading from the flour, turn off the gas and take the pan down and let it cool. Then put a pan in the gas and pour one-litre water in it and let it heat up. When the water becomes hot, add sugar to it, stir well and let it cook. Cook it till a 1 wire syrup (1 taar ki chashni) is ready. Now add maida to it and mix it well with the help of a spoon. Keep in mind that the flame of gas should be min. Then heat the ghee and put it in sugar syrup slowly and stir with a spoon. When all the ghee is mixed and the halwa starts to thicken, then leave ghee in the pan, add almonds, pistachios, raisins and cashews. Now take the mixture down and spread it in a plate, put ghee in a pan or tray and pour this mixture into it. When it cools down, cut it into pieces. As soon as it cools down, remove the pieces and serve it. Your tasty Sohan Halwa is ready. You can garnish it with almonds, pistachios and cardamom.
