In Kupwara, the constable has shot dead him inside a military camp. He has been identified as Shinde Sandeep Arjun. He was working in Drangyari Chowkibal. The incident took place at 4.30 am on Monday. When Shinde killed himself with his service rifle. He was taken to the military hospital in Srinagar by other jawans where he succumbed to his injuries. A military official said that they are engaged in ascertaining the cause of the incident. A case has been registered in this regard. Earlier in the day, a major who took over as company commander in Ramban on Sunday shot himself with a service rifle.

It has been learnt that major posted at Mhow Bal Post of Alpha Company of 23 National Rifles has been identified as Parwinder Singh Son Rashpal Singh Resident Priyadarshini Vihar New Delhi. Police have registered a case of death under suspicious circumstances and an investigation has been launched.

Police sources said major Parwinder Singh's suicide was reported at 10.30 pm on Saturday. Major Parwinder was appointed company commander in 23 RR recently. He shot himself with an AK rifle in his quarters at night. It is also said that as soon as the information was received, the police team rushed to the spot and completed a preliminary investigation and seized the body. The body has been handed over to the army after conducting a postmortem on Sunday. According to police, the matter is under investigation.
