New Delhi: Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has answered the questions of former Congress President Rahul Gandhi. Jaishankar said that Indian soldiers stationed on the Indo-China border in the Galwan Valley had weapons, but they did not use the weapons under previous agreements. Congress MP Rahul Gandhi questioned the government, who sent the Indian Army to the Chinese soldiers without weapons.

In response to this, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar tweeted, "All the soldiers posted on the border carry arms with them. They also have weapons, especially when leaving the post. On June 15, soldiers posted in Galwan also had weapons. But due to the Indo-China treaty of 1996 and 2005, this practice has been going on for a long time that the soldiers do not use firearms (gun) during the decision-off."

On the night of 15-16 June, there was a violent clash between the Indian and Chinese soldiers stationed on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in the Galwan Valley, in which 20 Indian soldiers were killed. Since then, Rahul Gandhi has been attacking the government. On Thursday, Rahul Gandhi had tweeted, asking, "How dare China kill our unarmed soldiers. Why were our soldiers sent to unarmed?
