External Affairs Minister Jaishankar to visit US next week to discuss vaccine

New Delhi: India's Foreign Minister S Jaishankar is likely to visit the US by next week. However, no official information has been given about the visit so far. India is engaged in talks with various U.S. institutions involved in the production of corona vaccine and is looking forward to the procurement and production of these vaccines.

The issue of vaccine procurement is projected to be a major issue during Jaishankar's talks with the Us leadership and other stakeholders. The United States has already announced that it is going to distribute 80 million vaccines from the stock it has to needcountries. According to information received, the United States has stock of 60 million Astra Zeneca vaccines and pfizer, modern and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines.

The US is playing an important role in helping India's fight against the global epidemic corona virus. It has already given important medicines like large oxygen concentraters, remedicsvir to India. The vaccine maker has also provided raw materials for the Serum Institute of India (SII), which is producing covicshield.
