Hyderabad : Former Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister and Telugu Desam Party leader Bhuma Akhila Priya was arrested by Hyderabad police on Wednesday on charges of land dispute and kidnapping.

Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar told reporters, 'We arrested Akhila Priya from her residence in the morning and formally arrested her in the afternoon after a preliminary investigation. He will be produced in the Secunderabad local court for judicial remand in the evening after medical examination. Along with Akhila Priya, her husband Bhargava Ram, TDP senior leader Kurnool EV Subbareddy and several others are accused of being involved in the kidnapping and kidnapping scheme. The commissioner said, "We have set up special police teams to identify and apprehend other suspects."

The three abductees - K Praveen Rao, K Sunil Rao and K Naveen Rao, KCR associate P Venugopal Rao are Chief Minister and cousin. Praveen Rao is a former national badminton player.

Commissioner Anjani Kumar said details of the land issue were being looked into.
