Guwahati: Mohammed Sanaullah, a retired honorary lieutenant of the Indian Army is missing again in the final list of Assam NRC. He was declared a foreigner this year.  His three children- two daughters and a son- are not included in the list but his wife is considered an Indian citizen.

On Saturday, the Union Home Ministry has released the final list of the NRC. The names of more than 19 lakh people are out of the list. All these people will now appeal for their citizenship in foreign tribunals. They have only 120 days to appeal. December 31, 2019 is the last date for filing of appeals. On the other hand, they can go from the High Court to the Supreme Court.

Mohammed Sanaullah had participated in the Kargil war and has been awarded the Presidential Medal. He has been declared foreign by the foreign tribunal of Kamrup. He was booked in 2008 and his name was listed as a D-category (suspicious) voter. In May, he was sent to the Detention Centre. However, he was later granted bail by the Guwahati High Court.
