New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's radio program 'Mann Ki Baat' will complete its 100th edition on Sunday April 30, 2023. The radio program was initiated on the occasion of Vijayadashami on October 3, 2014, and is broadcast in 22 Indian languages, 29 dialects, and 11 international languages through multiple platforms.
Ahead of the hundredth episode of 'Mann Ki Baat', a book titled 'Collective Spirit, Concrete Action' written by Shashi Shekhar Vempati, former CEO of Prasar Bharati (2017-2022), documenting various facets of PM Modi's ongoing conversations with the people that resonate with the nation, was released. The book was released during the Conclave on Mann Ki Baat @100 held in New Delhi on April 26.
IIT Bombay alumni Shashi Shekhar Vempati administered the twin broadcast networks Doordarshan and All India Radio in addition to holding the position of CEO of Rajya Sabha TV, India's Parliamentary TV Channel. He paid special attention to the 'Mann Ki Baat' broadcast and how it affected the general public.
The author claims that "Mann Ki Baat" combines the influence of radio with the vision of a national leader.
"Mann Ki Baat is a fantastic monthly radio show that has swept India. The book's cover stated, "For more than nine years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has used this platform to interact with his people, sharing his views, ideas, and vision for the nation.
And now, as the programme reaches its 100th episode, the author hopes to draw attention to the topics that have characterised "Mann Ki Baat" and influenced India's developmental trajectory through his book. The book special also provides opinions and insights from well-known people and grassroots change-makers over the course of its 15 chapters.
Readers will learn how the programme has influenced societal transformation and the lives of people and communities all around the country via their experiences and tales.
This book offers a greater knowledge of the power of discourse and the transforming potential it contains by exploring the stories of farmers who have changed themselves into entrepreneurs as well as common people who have been inspired to take action, among many others," it stated.
