Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain is set to take on former champion Chen Nien-chin on the opening day of the 12th season of the IBA Women's World Boxing Championships starting on Monday in Istanbul. Indian boxers have got a mixed draw in the tournament in which the Indian campaign is about to start with a bout of Borgohain (70kg). Borgohain has beaten Nien-Chin in the quarterfinals of the Tokyo Olympics but the Chinese Taipei boxer has also won gold and bronze medals in the 2018 and 2016 seasons of the tournament respectively.

Two-time Asian champions Pooja Rani (81kg), Nandini and Nikhat Zareen (52kg) have also got to see a tight draw in their respective categories. Pooja will be seen taking on two-time World Championships bronze medallist Timiya Negi of Hungary in the last 16 round, while Nandini (over 81kg) won in the first round, but is set to face Morocco's bronze medallist Khadija al-Mardi in the quarterfinals. Nikhat is set to take on Mexico's Herrera Alvarez in the first round.

According to reports, Jasmin (60kg) is going to face two-time young Asian champion Porntip Bupa of Thailand in the first round. Among the other Indians, are Ankushita (66kg), Neetu (48kg), Anamika (50kg), Shiksha (54kg), Manisha (57kg), and Parveen (63kg) and Sweety (75kg) have played out relatively easy draws.
