Former Chief Justice of Supreme Court of India, Mr. Altamas Kabir passed away. He was suffering from various kidney ailments and was admitted to a private hospital in Kolkatta. He was 63 years old.
“Mr. Altamas Kabir, Hon’ble Former Chief Justice of India, passed away at Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, Kolkata, 2:52 p.m. on Sunday,” said a statement by the hospital.
He served as Chief Justice for a brief period of 2012-2013.
