Former Union minister Bachi Singh Rawat left the world on Sunday. He was admitted to All-India Institute of Medical Sciences after he experienced difficulty in breathing. He has served the nation as Union minister of state in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government. 

The 71 year old former BJP state president passed away due to CORONA complications. Bachi Singh Rawat was a four-time MP from the Almora-Pithoragarh constituency and had defeated former chief minister and Congress leader Harish Rawat thrice in consecutive elections. According to information received, he was rushed to AIIMS Rishikesh with the help of chopper from Haldwani after developing infection in the lungs. Rawat who has remained a four-time Lok Sabha MP Was brought by air ambulance as his health condition detroit rapidly. Medical Superintendent of AIIMS, BS Bastia has confirmed his death, on Sunday. The reports of doctor after preliminary tests revealed an infection in his lungs. The news of Rawat's demise has left everyone in sorrow. In the meanwhile, Uttarakhand CM Tirath Singh Rawat has expressed grief at death  of former Union minister and prayed for peace to his soul and strength to the bereaved family. 

Senior BJP leader Murli Manohar Joshi and Rawat had a close relationship. He also showed his sorrow for the sudden death of Union minister of state for science and technology in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.
