Bhopal: MP-MLA special court of Bhopal district court of Madhya Pradesh sentenced former BJP minister and MLA Surendra Patwa for 6 months. This punishment has been heard in 4 separate cases of check bounce and non-return of money taken from another. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 45 lakh on Patwa. However, the special court has also granted bail to Patwa in all 4 cases. While the court has given 30 days of time for Patwa to appeal in the High Court by giving bail of 50-50 thousand rupees.

The four cases in which the court sentenced Patwa. It involves the case of not returning the money borrowed from the people with a check bounce. The first case is of Sanjay Jain of Indore. It is being told that Patwa borrowed Rs 9 lakh from Sanjay Jain for his business. For this borrowing, Patwa gave a cheque of 9 lakh rupees to Jain. Similarly, Patwa had also taken 9 and a half lakh rupees from Sarika Jain of Indore, gave a cheque in exchange for that.

While 6 and a half lakhs were also borrowed from Maya Jain of Indore, Patwa borrowed 5 lakh rupees from Anita Mittal of Indore. However, when Patwa could not return this amount, all these people filed a case against him in the court. In four cases, the court has asked to pay a fine of one and a half times its amount of 45 lakh rupees in lieu of check amount of 30 lakhs. With the punishment, Patwa will now have to pay a fine of Rs 45 lakh.
