Former Rajya Sabha MP and country's famous litterateur and poet Balkavi Bairagi died on Sunday evening. According to the reports, he has breathed his last on his residence. He was 87 years old. Bairagi was born on 10 February 1931 in Rampur village of Manasa tehsil of Mandsaur district. He was also active in literature and poetry as well as in the field of politics. Due to being pro-active in politics, the poems of Beiragi naturally get a glimpse of politics.

It is said that by joining a program in Neemuch, he reached his home in Manasa. He went to his room to relax some time there. About 5:00 pm when he was called up for tea, he was passed away.

The news of his demise spread in the region, and the wave of grief was raging, many big political figures are reaching his residence.

He was a Minister of Madhya Pradesh from 1980 to 1984 and was a Member of Lok Sabha from 1984 to 1989. Later he was also a member of the Rajya Sabha.

Bairagi has written more than 25 songs for Bollywood movies, out of which 'Tu Chanda Me Chandni, Tu Jawwar Me Shakh Re' are most famous.
