New Delhi :Congress leader and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Narayan Dutt Tiwari passed away on Thursday after a prolonged illness at the age of 93. ND Tiwari, who was battling with a brain stroke and at last he took last breath at Max Hospital in Delhi on October 18.
ND Tiwari is one of the big name in India politics who served the politics for the decades. He joined Indian National Congress in year 1963 and elected as MLA from kashipur in 1965. He was three-times Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, one time Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Minister of External Affairs under Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi's cabinet and Governor of Andhra Pradesh.

On the demise of Tiwari, BJP president made a tweet and said that it is irreparable loss for Indian politics. His Tweet reads he sad report of the death of senior politician Narayan Dutt Tiwari has been received. He had fought against the British in the Indian freedom struggle. Tiwari has played a long political inning and became a big name in indian politics. After Independence, he had reached the assembly as an MLA on the Samajwadi Party ticket from Nainital. He was Chief Minister of UP from January 1976 to April 1977, August 1984 to September 1985 and from June 1988 to December 1988. Elected for the 7th Lok Sabha in 1980 and worked as Union Minister. He became a Rajya Sabha member from 1985-1988. In 1994, due to ideological differences, he resigned from the Congress.
