Former Uttar Pradesh CM Kalyan Singh dies

Kalyan Singh, former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister dies on Saturday night. The politician took his last breath due to sepsis and multi-organ failure. He was 89-years-old.

The former CM was admitted at Lucknow's Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences. Singh's health was said to be critical and he had been put on life support system. The veteran leader BJP leader was admitted to the hospital's intensive care unit on July 4 because of an infection and his consciousness level too reduced. Earlier this week, on Friday, the hospital authorities informed that his health status was critical. He was also moved on a life-saving support system.

Current Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Mr Singh in the hospital earlier on Saturday. He also expressed his condolences, calling his death an irreparable loss. His government has declared three days of state mourning and a holiday on August 23 when Mr Singh's body will be cremated.
