New Delhi:- Formula E, the world's purely electric racing series, wants to race in Los Angeles. All possible track locations are focused on running sports venues. When Formula E left its US base in Brooklyn, it was due to construction in the area.

When it was announced that Portland would be the only U.S. event in 2023, it was a big change from previous series venues. The Portland event was a huge success and sold out with considerable fanfare as it was held in a city with a strong commitment to carbon neutrality, but the race was held on a permanent street circuit rather than a large market. So the situation was different. Formula E is set to return to Portland in 2024, but after that, it's an open question.   

In the paddock, the Portland race meant going back to Southern California, Los Angeles. Formula E was raced on a modified version of the Long Beach IndyCar circuit in 2015 and 2016. Since then, the series has been looking for a way to one day make a comeback.

Several Los Angeles-area sports facilities are monitoring where they run around the circuit, the people said, asking not to be identified. Discussions ranged from SoFi Stadium to the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to Dodger Stadium, but it was the latter that generated the most excitement. 

Formula E's new CEO, Jeff Dodds, has cited the legendary MLB stadium as a possible site in media interviews.

"Los Angeles is one of the places we're looking at, another big city in the United States, around Dodgers Stadium, who knows what's around and inside!" said Dodds. "But we are excited to have a conversation with them." 

If Dodger Stadium were to be chosen, it would reportedly be a location in downtown Los Angeles with great visuals. As the Portland event demonstrated, Formula E has the ability to transform places through its branding, media, and hospitality infrastructure. Street courses are favored, so the circuit will look smooth and professional in Dodger Stadium's sprawling parking lot.
