THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: On Sunday, four members of a family were found hanging at a residence, including the father, mother, and two children in Kodungallur, Kerala's Thrissur district.
Kadamparambath Ashraf (41), his wife Abeera (35) and their two children Fathima (14) and Anoinsa (13) were among the victims (7). The incident was found when the family refused to open the door even after forenoon, and it was found that the house had been locked from the inside and the windowpanes had been taped. The police were informed, and when they broke open the house, all four people were found dead.
According to Kodungallur police sources, the room where the four were found dead smelled like carbon monoxide. A case of unnatural death has been filed with the Kodungallur police department.
According to neighbours, the family was having financial difficulties and owed money to a number of people. Police are looking into whether Ashraf and his family were threatened or whether it was a suicide pact.
