Singrauli: The Singrauli district police of MP have registered a case of rape and kidnapping against BJP Sarai Mandal president Komal Gupta and her brother-in-law Dharmendra Gupta. According to police, the accused had allegedly molested a 21-year-old woman from outside her house on January 27, three days before her wedding.

The family members of the same girl had lodged a missing complaint on the same day and the victim was rescued from Balaghat on February 19. The victim has alleged in her complaint that Dharmendra Gupta and Komal Gupta had picked her up from outside her house after forcibly sniffing some substance. The victim further claimed that she regained consciousness somewhere near Jabalpur, from where Komal Gupta left Dharmendra Gupta's side and Dharmendra took her in a bus to Balaghat. Here she was imprisoned in her aunt's house. Dharmendra repeatedly raped her.

According to the information received from Singrauli Superintendent of Police Virendra Pratap Singh, the main culprit Dharmendra Gupta has been arrested while Komal Gupta is still absconding. The victim has alleged that she was raped. Komal Gupta had helped kidnap. We have registered a case against both the culprits under appropriate action and further investigation is on.
