Kartik Aaryan is one of the most loved actors of the new generation of Bollywood. He is famous for his realistic acting and different roles. Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhuliya 2 became a block buster. Now he is back with another mind-blowing performance in Freddy. The film already hit the theatre screen today. The movie sets out to be a psychological thriller, and it does have a lot going for it early on. The entire onus of making Freddy this dark, and unpredictable.

Story

Freddy is based on the story of a 28-year-old introvert, recluse and loner dentist, Dr Freddy Ginwala (Kartik Aaryan), who has been on a matrimonial website Meri Shaadi.com for five years looking for a partner'.  After his failed attempts at finding a suitable match and facing humiliation at the hands of a few prank calls, Freddy falls for a married woman Kainaaz Irani (Alafa F), who is stuck in a physically abusive marriage. They fall in Love but the movie has much to offer besides their love story.

Review

Speaking of the climax it is quite predictable and feels a bit lazy and rushed But Kartik makes a brave choice of turning the tables. From gaining 14 kgs, adapting the mannerisms of an introvert, learning the skills of a dentist to emoting joy, sorrow, love and lust with so much conviction. Kartik performance is outstanding.  Alaya F is impressive, and for a second film after her debut Jawaani Deewani (2020), Alaya definitely has picked up the nuances well, and delivers a promising performance. The story is good, plot is impressive. Overall it is worth watching.

Speaking about Freddy,.The film also stars Alaya F. He will then be seen in Shehzada opposite Kriti Sanon. The Rohit Dhawan film will release in February next year and is the official Hindi remake of Allu Arjun’s Telugu blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Kartik also has Satya Prem Ki Katha opposite Kiara Advani in the pipeline. He has also been cast in Aashiqui 3.
