Abu Dhabi: The French foreign trade minister, Olivier Becht, and the UAE's minister of economy, Abdullah Al-Marri, met on Thursday in Abu Dhabi to discuss ways to advance economic cooperation, according to the Emirates News Agency.
The options for promoting bilateral trade and investment in creative startups, the circular economy, tourism, technology, family businesses, renewable energy, and agriculture were specifically discussed.
According to Al-Marri, "the UAE-French relations are characterised by a strong and sustainable strategic partnership across all fields, and they enjoy the support and forward-looking vision of the leadership of the two countries."

"Especially in light of the recent exchange of high-level official visits between the two nations, particularly President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan's visit to France in May, which clearly demonstrates the two nations' desire to strengthen their bilateral relations on a number of fronts."

Becht noted that the UAE is one of France's most important trading partners in the area and that the recently formed French-Emirati Business Council is fostering better business and trade ties.
