According to media reports that January 17 was the last day to respond to the tender, only German Atlas Electronic and French Naval Group have responded to the proposal. The tender was issued for French-origin Scorpene submarines being built at Mazagaon Dockyards Ltd (MDL) in India. Tenders for heavyweight torpedoes for the Navy were issued to global manufacturers in France, Sweden, Russia, and Germany, but only two firms have responded.
