French President Emmanuel Macron, the chief guest at India's 75th Republic Day, arrived in Jaipur on Thursday to a gracious welcome. He held key discussions with PM Modi, covering various bilateral and global issues.

Referring to PM Narendra Modi as a close friend, Macron tweeted, "My dear friend @NarendraModi, Indian people, My warmest wishes on your Republic Day. Happy and proud to be with you. Let's celebrate!"

This visit by Macron marks a significant milestone in the 25th anniversary of the Strategic Partnership between India and France.

It's noteworthy that this is the sixth time a French leader is part of India's major ceremonial event, showcasing the enduring ties between the two nations. The tradition began in 1976 with President Jacques Chirac.

The relationship between PM Modi and President Macron has seen remarkable engagement, evident through their meetings at various international forums like the COP 28 Summit and the G20 Leaders' Summit.

During PM Modi's visit to France in July 2023, the two leaders laid out important agreements and roadmaps, strengthening cooperation in areas such as technology, aviation, and space.

Macron's presence at the Republic Day celebrations not only underscores the friendship between India and France but also signifies a new chapter in their collaboration.

PM Modi expressed his pride in Macron's participation, highlighting its significance in furthering the bond between the two nations.
