Bhopal: In today's era, every other person uses social media. But identity on social media sometimes proves to be dangerous. Something similar happened to a 24-year-old girl doing engineering living in Bhopal. After being recognized on the matrimonial site, a person came to a hotel in Bhopal and first made a relationship with an engineering student and then after winning his trust, took 23000 rupees in the name of borrowing and fled. TI Sudhir Arjaria of MP Nagar police station told that the victim girl is from another city, who is studying engineering by living in Bhopal. The girl had put her profile on a matrimonial portal in search of a life partner.
After a few days a boy contacted the girl and told her name as Sandeep Bhatt resident of Delhi. From the matrimonial site, the discussion progressed to calling and chatting. Both asked to meet each other and it was decided to meet at a hotel in Bhopal. Due to the meeting in the same hotel, there was also a physical relationship between the victim and the criminal. After this the criminal went back, but after a few days he came again to Bhopal and stayed with the girl in the hotel for 2 to 3 days. Due to this, there was a physical relationship between the two once again. By then the criminal youth had won the girl's trust and took about 23 thousand rupees from her in the name of loan.
The criminal had also told the girl that he had 2 flats in Delhi. After several days of going back, when the girl did not get the call of the criminal, she tried to contact the criminal but her phone kept telling switched off continuously. Even after trying for several days, when the girl did not talk to Sandeep, she complained about the incident with herself to the MP Nagar police station, after which the police registered a case against the criminal under sections 376 and 420. Police investigation has revealed that the name of Sunil is written on the Aadhar card given by the criminal for booking in the hotel, so questions are being raised as to why the hotel booked the room in someone else's name. At present, the police has started searching for the culprit on the basis of the address written on the Aadhar card and the CCTV footage.
