Shah began to view marriage and Fatherhood as a burden

Shah entered into a deeply passionate relationship with Parveen, a 34-year-old Pakistani who was studying medicine at Aligarh Muslim University at that time. The couple married on November 1, 1969, but the relationship ended soon after Shah got admission to the National School of Drama in Delhi and left Aligarh.
