Badla, headlined by Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu, is easily one of the biggest surprise hits of the year. Interestingly, Badla, in its box-office span, has come face-to-face with two Marvel movies – it released alongside Captain Marvel and now, it has the company of the recently-released Avengers: Endgame in cinemas.
The crime drama, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, was not only praised by film critics but also found immense love from audiences across the country. The result: It has completed a remarkable 50-day run in cinemas to collect an impressive Rs 87.87 crore. ‘Badla’ is only the second film this year to complete 50 days at the box office after ‘Uri: The Surgical Stirke.’

Taapsee is on cloud nine with the roaring success of her film. Expressing her happiness on her Twitter account, the actress wrote, “From Captain Marvel to Avengers.....We survived ! #50DaysOfBadla”

What makes the box-office victory of Badla even bigger is the fact that it is a medium-budget film made on a cost of Rs 10 crore. With regard to return on investment, its success is much bigger than one can imagine. ‘Badla’ is a suspense thriller set around a murder, with Taapsee's character one of those getting embroiled in the investigation, and lawyer Big B trying to arrive at the truth.
