Moscow: The Kherson Region and Crimean authorities were the targets of a number of terrorist attacks that were thwarted by Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB), which also revealed that it had information on a foreign security service operation.

Russian counterintelligence forces have identified an SBU employee, who was a recruiter and leader of nationalist sources, the FSB said in a statement. "During the operational game FSB's counterintelligence operations, an attempt by the Security Service of Ukraine [SBU] to commit a series of sabotage and terrorist attacks against officials of the military-civil administration of the Kherson Region and the Crimean government was thwarted."

The FSB reportedly obtained information about a foreign security service operation, captured the criminals and their allies, seized the tools of their trade, and discovered their communication and funding routes.
