Government official clarifies 'Complete lockdown will not be imposed in UP'

Lucknow: There is a lot of speculation about the lockdown in Uttar Pradesh. On this, the UP government disclosed that the weekend lockdown will continue till July 31 in UP. The state's Additional Chief Secretary, Home Avnish Kumar Awasthi, while dismissing the talk of putting a full lockdown, said that there is no plan of complete lockdown in the state from July 16 to 31.

He said in a conversation with the media on Wednesday that no new order of any kind has been issued. The order to lockdown on Saturday and Sunday issued on July 14 will remain in force. Many rumours of complete lockdown were being spread in the state on social media, on which Additional Chief Secretary Home gave clarification. And dismissing it said that there is no plan for complete lockdown.

On July 14, the UP government issued guidelines for the lockdown to be held on Saturday and Sunday every week in the state. This lockdown will continue from 10 pm Friday to 5 am Monday. Due to this, all markets, malls and offices will remain closed. And at this time (every Friday night from 10 am to 5.00 am Monday), all government offices in the entire state (excluding all essential services and banks) will remain closed. Therefore, complete lockdown will not be imposed.
