New Delhi: Indian Air Force Chief Vivek Ram Chaudhary on Tuesday said the nature of future warfare is projected to be hybrid. It will use things like economic sanctions, information barriers, computer viruses and hypersonic missiles. In his speech at an event organised by the All India Management Association (AIMA), Vivek Ram Chaudhary said that 'cyber and information' have become modern weapons to shape the battlefield.
He further said that a well-crafted discourse in the field of information will affect the enemy and can have devastating effects. The Air Force chief said that people have become very much connected to each other, in such a situation, "cyberattacks on our network can paralyse command and control structures.'' He said that in the next war the enemy may not be a country or an organization.
He said that India may never know who are the people attacking its computers and when and from where this attack will happen. Choudhary said India is likely to be attacked on all fronts in the future, ranging from economic sanctions to diplomatic isolation and military standoff to intercepting information by attacking computers.
