New Delhi: The G20 countries - Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Türkiye, United Kingdom, and United States - are set to launch the Resource Efficiency and Circular Economy Industry Coalition (RECEIC) today, an official statement reads.

This momentous event is scheduled to unfold on the fringes of the 4th environment and climate sustainability working group meeting, currently underway in the vibrant city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Conceived during India's G20 Presidency, RECEIC stands as an industry-driven initiative with a resolute global mission: to foster and promote resource efficiency and circular economy practices. Going beyond the tenure of India's G20 leadership, this autonomous coalition is primed to perpetuate its vital work, ensuring a lasting and positive environmental impact.

The coalition proudly brings together "39 pioneering members hailing from 11 diverse nations." Its overarching purpose lies in establishing itself as a platform for the exchange of knowledge and best practices, actively encouraging sustainable methodologies among all participating industries. At its heart, RECEIC upholds core principles centered on impactful partnerships, technology collaboration, and financial support to facilitate scalable solutions.

The inauguration ceremony will be gracefully officiated by India's esteemed Minister of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav. Accompanying him will be the distinguished EU Environment Commissioner, along with representatives from Canada, France, Italy, Denmark, Mauritius, and the UAE, all converging to witness this landmark occasion.
