G20 Summit Live: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has delivered his opening address at the G20 Summit held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on Saturday.

During his inaugural speech at the G20 Summit on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed the imperative of finding practical solutions to combat terrorism, address climate change, tackle supply chain challenges, and enhance cybersecurity measures. Furthermore, he made a formal announcement regarding the inclusion of the African Union in the G20.

In his address to G20 leaders, Prime Minister Modi called upon the international community to unite in transforming the prevailing global trust deficit into one founded on trust and reliance. He underscored that now is the time for the global community to work together and devise robust solutions to address various global issues, spanning North-South and East-West divides, food and fuel management, terrorism, cybersecurity, health, energy, and water security.

Additionally, in his inaugural speech, PM Modi expressed heartfelt condolences for the victims of the recent earthquake in Morocco, emphasizing that the entire global community stands in solidarity with the people of Morocco.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced that, pending approval from G20 member nations, the African Union would attain permanent membership within the Group of Twenty, affording it the same status as the European Union.

During his opening address, PM Narendra Modi reaffirmed India's commitment to human-centric and inclusive development, characterizing the ongoing Summit as the 'people's G20.'
