Surat: In a disturbing incident reported from Vadodara, Gujarat, a 55-year-old Hindu woman was allegedly gang-raped while searching for domestic work to support herself. The incident occurred in the Khodiyarnagar area of Vadodara, where the victim fell prey to the heinous crime perpetrated by three individuals. The main accused, identified as Vakil Ahmed Pathan, a rickshaw driver, lured the victim by promising her employment opportunities. Accompanied by his associates, Chaman Khan Pathan and Shaukat Khan Pathan, they took advantage of the victim's vulnerability and subjected her to sexual assault.

The victim's daughter promptly notified the authorities upon learning about the horrific ordeal, leading to the swift arrest of all three perpetrators. The police acted swiftly, forming multiple teams and leveraging CCTV footage to track down the culprits. According to reports, the victim, residing near the police station, had been actively seeking employment to sustain her family's livelihood. On the day of the incident, she was approached by Vakil Ahmed Pathan, who falsely promised her work opportunities and subsequently orchestrated the assault.

The accused deceived the victim by luring her to a secluded area under the guise of employment prospects. There, they forcibly assaulted her, leaving her traumatized. However, the victim's courage, coupled with her daughter's swift action, facilitated the apprehension of the perpetrators. Currently, all three accused are undergoing medical examinations, along with the victim, as part of the investigation. It has been revealed that one of the accused, Chaman Khan, has a history of involvement in criminal activities, while the main accused, Vakil Pathan, and Shaukat Khan Pathan, also have prior records of minor offenses.

Providing insight into the crime, DCP M.P. Bhojani stated that the rickshaw driver, in a reprehensible act of deceit, lured the victim with the promise of work and orchestrated the assault with his accomplices. The authorities have assured swift and thorough investigation into the matter to ensure justice for the victim.
