Kolkata: An incident that has disturbed humanity has come to light from West Bengal. On Saturday (January 1, 2021), a group returning from a picnic on the occasion of New Year's Eve was stopped by armed accused on the Kolkata-Basanti highway, then forced the woman down from the vehicle and gang-raped her at gunpoint. Police has arrested 6 people in this case.

According to the report, the local people of Kumarjal rescued the woman after the incident and informed the police. Meenakhan police, who reached the spot, got the woman admitted to the hospital for treatment. A case has been registered at Meenakha police station on the complaint of the victim. At the same time, the 6 accused who have been caught by the police in this case and all of them are being told about 20 years of age. On Sunday (January 2, 2021), the names of the accused who have been caught by the police have been named as Salaam Sardar, Habibur Mulla, Shariful Ghazi, Surjit Mandal, Bakibillah Tarafdar and Rakibul Islam.

All of them were produced before the Basirhat District Court (Basirhat district court) from where the court remanded all the accused to 13 days police custody. The condition of the victim is said to be critical. Once she recovers, the victim will be produced before a magistrate to record her statement.
