Banka: Five children of the same family were killed when a gas cylinder exploded in Rajon police station area of Banka district of Bihar on Tuesday evening. In addition, two other persons were also reported injured. A police official said cooking was being cooked in the house of Ashok Paswan, a resident of Rajabar village, on Tuesday evening. This led to a fire due to leakage of gas pipe. The cylinder exploded after the fire broke out. Because of this, the children of the house were playing there.

Five children suffered severe burns in the same accident. Locals said the incident occurred due to leakage of LPG cylinders. As soon as the news of the accident was received, people in the area tried to control the fire. The villagers who arrived on hearing the sound were preparing to go to the hospital with the injured children when five children succumbed to their injuries.

The same Rajon police station in-charge B D Paswan said that four siblings were among the dead. He said that among the deceased are Ashok Paswan's son Ankush Kumar (12) and daughters Seema Kumari (8), Soni Kumari (4) and Shivani Kumari (6) besides Anshu Kumari (7). Anshu is said to be the daughter of Ashok's brother Prakash Paswan. Senior officials of the district have also reached the spot after the news of the case. According to police sources, two persons were also reported injured in the accident. The injured have been sent to hospital.
