In the reality competition Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10, Marathi cinema's top star and Imlie actor Gashmeer Mahajani plans to dazzle his audience with a variety of dance styles. At the press conference for the show on Friday, Gashmeer spoke candidly about taking part, the judges, his passion for dance, and his choreographer Romsha Singh. The actor claimed, in a media interview, that his dance training had suffered because of his acting career. For those who don't know, Gashmeer is a professional dancer who specialises in Bollyhop, which combines hip-hop with Bollywood style.

"Every day for 1.5 hours, my partner (choreographer) Romsha Singh makes me do stretches. I genuinely cry and perspire. I'm dancing to music that isn't normally my style. I adore my partner because she pushes me to try new genres as well. My preferred style is bollyhop, but we're not doing that. In the first episode, we performed contemporary and freestyle, which is something I've never done before. We have begun stepping outside of our comfort zones so that we can challenge ourselves to perform even better as the show progresses. In my second performance, I'm performing jazz, which, once more, I've never done because Jhalak is all about experimenting with yourself, we'll be trying the international and Indian genres that I haven't previously explored, said Gashmeer.

In response to a question about how this reality show has brought him back into contact with his dancing, Gashmeer said, "I think over the years because of my acting career, I got distanced from dance. In the past seven to eight years, I have played countless characters in my show, movies, and web series that have nothing to do with dance. They were all extremely realistic and hard-hitting as characters. 15 years ago, I was a professional dancer, and what better place to get back into it than Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 10? Because it's a competition, this show is watched by people all over the world. I'm extremely grateful that Colors contacted me about doing this show, I take this as an opportunity to improvise myself as an artist and as a person.

"This is the best jury panel for a dance reality show that could possibly exist. I'm not being diplomatic or modest, but I can explain why. Karan Johar is someone who has a complete understanding of cinema, including its aesthetic, production, and marketing aspects. He will be making his judgments from the viewpoint of an artist. The other is Madhuri Dixit, one of India's top actresses in her own right. The third judge, Nora Fatehi, is a person with extensive knowledge of dance technicalities and an eye for detail. She will evaluate an artist from her perspective. Even the lack of a sharp toe tip would be noticed by her. This will be very helpful for the performer to develop on stage and for the actor to ahead in life," concluded Gashmeer Mahajani.
