KOLKATA: Gautam Adani, chairman and founder of the Adani Group said, the company will invest over Rs 10,000 crore in West Bengal over the next few years.
He made the statement while speaking at the Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS)-2022, an annual event hosted by the West Bengal government to promote the state as an excellent investment destination.
"In the next years, we intend to invest Rs 10,000 crore in West Bengal. This investment will primarily go into areas like undersea cables, data centres, and warehouses. Around 25,000 people will be employed directly and indirectly as a result of this. We will bring in state-of-the-art technologies as we make these investments " Adani said.
Speaking at the event, the Adani Group chairman and founder heaped admiration on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, particularly on the issue of preventing man-days from being lost in the state due to a variety of circumstances. "I sincerely appreciate the chief minister's invitation to attend conference. Bengal, I am confident, will progress under her energetic leadership "he stated.
