GAZA: In the course of the last 100 days, Gaza has been ravaged by Israel's continuous aerial bombardment and ground offensive, resulting in the tragic loss of nearly 24,000 Palestinian lives. This staggering toll represents approximately one percent of the besieged strip's population, which stands at 2.3 million.

The relentless assaults have forced the mass displacement of the population, with the majority now concentrated in the southern region of the territory. The severe shortage of basic necessities, including food, is pushing Gaza to the brink of a humanitarian crisis, resembling a potential famine.

The northern areas, initially targeted by Israel, now bear witness to vast landscapes of rubble. Gaza City and its surrounding districts have been flattened, leaving many residents who fled uncertain about the possibility of returning. For those who do return, the fear looms that their neighborhoods will be uninhabitable due to the destruction inflicted.

In the southern parts of Gaza, where evacuation was advised by Israel, rescuers are tirelessly sifting through smoldering heaps of concrete, stone, and dust in search of survivors amidst the relentless air strikes and shelling.

The toll on human lives is staggering, with at least 60,000 people injured in Gaza. Shockingly, this figure includes over 8,663 children and 6,327 women, as reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the Palestine Red Crescent Society, and Save the Children.

Desperation has led to the emergence of tent camps on any available open space. Starving Palestinians queue up at distribution sites for food amidst Israel's siege of the territory. Alarmingly, nine out of 10 people are enduring 24 hours or more without access to food, according to data released by the World Food Programme.

In response to the mounting international pressure, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, on Saturday, dismissed the possibility of the International Court of Justice intervening to halt the conflict. The court is currently examining a genocide case against Israel, filed by South Africa. South Africa seeks the court's intervention to put an end to the war in Gaza.

Israel states its objective is to eliminate Hamas fighters, attributing the military action to a deadly attack on October 7 that claimed the lives of about 1,100 people in Israel. The conflict persists, leaving Gaza in a state of devastation and the international community grappling with urgent calls for peace.
